It’s that time of year again – the time to celebrate, discuss, and critique the artists that are chosen to represent the best in music of the year. The nominees for the 58th Grammy Awards have been revealed, and though it’s accompanied by the usual snub accusations, the nominees this year have critics saying “This Is Not the Year to Complain About the Grammys”.
This year’s nominations cater to both mass appeal and current tastes in music, without completely succumbing to Top 40 radio...
It isn’t common to hear praise for the crew silently working in the background. The better the crew are at their jobs, the less anyone notices them. But they aren’t invisible just because they always wear black and stick to the shadows backstage. That’s why we were ecstatic this morning to hear that Taylor Swift is taking her 125-person crew on a vacation to celebrate the end of her 1989 World Tour...
TourReady, Inc. today announced the much-anticipated release of the first iPhone app to help freelancers find work on tours and at concerts and festivals. The TourReady app enables freelance crew with a paid “Get Hired” subscription to have full access to TourReady’s most important features while on the go.
30 days ago TourReady ended its beta and officially launched their online database that simplifies the way employers find and hire crew in the concert, event, and touring industry. With our official launch, we wanted Crew to be able to have more choices when it came to how they find work. So we’ve been working hard on creating different account options to give crew more control over how much access to TourReady they want, and ultimately how much work they’re looking to find. Read on for the new plan breakdown:
Not too long ago, the only people working gigs were in the music industry. Today, more and more people are picking up freelance work and joining the newly phrased “Gig Economy” movement - where people are hired for a particular task or a defined period of time. Though this has been the norm in the live music industry for years, on-demand employment is shaking up the labor market and changing how freelancers are viewed across different industries.
After only 10 weeks of being in beta, the concert touring industry has welcomed us with open arms. But as with any new product, there are those who think “oh, it’s just like that other site” or who misunderstand what we do or how we do it. So to set the record straight, below are the three biggest misconceptions about TourReady that need to be put to rest.
Today's concert crew have undoubtably evolved from the days of Spinal Tap and big hair and have emerged into a new era of professionalism. Roadies are no longer affiliated with the stigma of sex, drugs, and rock and roll, but are skilled professionals that have innovated live music production into an experience.
With TourReady being so new, we get a ton of questions on social media asking how TourReady is different than other job sites, industry email chains, social media groups, and other alternatives that are available to concert touring professionals. We're ready to dissect the truth on how you can REALLY find work, by just having a profile on TourReady.
When is TourReady going to end its beta, and what cool new features can we expect? We're ready to round up all of the TourReady release rumors and bring you everything there is to know about TourReady so far. TourReady is adding cool new features during the public beta, such as a better calendar and a faster way to post jobs. Although this process takes time, it should only last a few more weeks.
We can't simplify everything in your life, but we sure can help you find crew to hire! Imagine being able to quickly find crew for a gig – whether you need them for a few days or a few months. TourReady allows YOU to be in control and find available and qualified crew at your convenience and on your terms. TourReady lets you create unlimited job postings, alleviating some of the stress that comes from working in the live event industry!
TourReady is live, and we couldn't be more excited! After a year of extensive industry research and development, you can officially become a part of the Touring Revolution. Until now, concert professionals have been asking themselves the age old question of what's next? Unless you've been blessed with an ongoing tour for the last decade, the majority of touring professionals jump from one tour to the next, without guarantee of their next gig. And that's where we can help.
