The Grammys celebrate the year’s best in music and the industry’s brightest stars. However, the 2016 Grammy Awards hit the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Monday evening and now the only thing people are talking about are the subtle audio glitches and no-shows. Though the majority of performances throughout the evening weren’t terribly exciting, a few performers actually had defining moments - Kendrick Lamar and Lady Gaga.
But with the technical problems overshadowing all else on social media, we wanted to highlight all of the hard work that goes into making The Grammys happen. It’s unfortunate that in this industry more congratulations aren’t communicated when everything goes perfectly, but you are called out when shit hits the fan.

Not too long ago, the only people working gigs were in the music industry. Today, more and more people are picking up freelance work and joining the newly phrased “Gig Economy” movement - where people are hired for a particular task or a defined period of time. Though this has been the norm in the live music industry for years, on-demand employment is shaking up the labor market and changing how freelancers are viewed across different industries.

This years VMA’s weren’t all about Moonman trophies and drab acceptance speeches. It was chock full of jaw dropping moments that can only be explained as outrageous and slightly disturbing. From Miley Cyrus’s scandalous outfit lineup, to Justin Bieber crying, to Kanye running for President – the VMA’s were an emotional rollercoaster from beginning to end (quite literally for the Biebs)....
