THE LOWDOWN ON THE MYSTERIOUS GRAMMY VOTING PROCESS

THE LOWDOWN ON THE MYSTERIOUS GRAMMY VOTING PROCESS

It’s that time of year again – the time to celebrate, discuss, and critique the artists that are chosen to represent the best in music of the year. The nominees for the 58th Grammy Awards have been revealed, and though it’s accompanied by the usual snub accusations, the nominees this year have critics saying “This Is Not the Year to Complain About the Grammys”.

TAYLOR SWIFT RAISES THE BAR ON HOW CREW SHOULD BE TREATED

TAYLOR SWIFT RAISES THE BAR ON HOW CREW SHOULD BE TREATED

It isn’t common to hear praise for the crew silently working in the background. The better the crew are at their jobs, the less anyone notices them.  But they aren’t invisible just because they always wear black and stick to the shadows backstage. That’s why we were ecstatic this morning to hear that Taylor Swift is taking her 125-person crew on a vacation to celebrate the end of her 1989 World Tour...

FIND WORK YOUR WAY

FIND WORK YOUR WAY

30 days ago TourReady ended its beta and officially launched their online database that simplifies the way employers find and hire crew in the concert, event, and touring industry. With our official launch, we wanted Crew to be able to have more choices when it came to how they find work. So we’ve been working hard on creating different account options to give crew more control over how much access to TourReady they want, and ultimately how much work they’re looking to find. Read on for the new plan breakdown:

THE GIG ECONOMY MOVEMENT

THE GIG ECONOMY MOVEMENT

Not too long ago, the only people working gigs were in the music industry. Today, more and more people are picking up freelance work and joining the newly phrased “Gig Economy” movement - where people are hired for a particular task or a defined period of time.  Though this has been the norm in the live music industry for years, on-demand employment is shaking up the labor market and changing how freelancers are viewed across different industries.

THE AGE OF FESTIVALS

THE AGE OF FESTIVALS

The modern music festival has emerged as the environment where music, fans, and brands can all come together to connect and share something more than just a social media post. The nature of the music festival is more: more music, more people, more connections, more choices. This demand for more has contributed to a shift in the music industry where festivals have dominated the live music scene.
